Rodarte’s high-art designs are not the sort of typical, sunny, strapless frocks favored by Hollywood. But designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy have made fast friends out of several starlets, including Kirsten Dunst who sat front row at their show Tuesday (Jason Schwarzman, Kim Gordon and Elijah Wood attended as well).

The actress has accompanied the sisters and worn their designs to black tie events, but she said she sports Rodarte when she’s out of the spotlight as well. “I have a lot of the sweaters. They’re easy to wear everyday,” said Dunst, who just completed a video project with Takashi Murakami for London’s Tate Gallery.

One would think that such close association with the fashion world would affect her sartorial choices, but Dunst said the designers inspire her more on a personal level. “They influence me as just creative people to be around.”
