Laura and Kate Mulleavy touched down in Hong Kong last week for a charity event in collaboration with Maggie Cheung, Crystallized-Swarovski Elements and retailer Joyce. The Rodarte sisters specially designed four one-of-a-kind dresses for a silent auction to benefit UNICEF.
The dresses were inspired by four of actress Maggie Cheung's films, including, "Hero," "In the Mood for Love," "Clean," and "Heroic Trio." Cheung hosted a private dinner at a secret location for the designers and VIP guests before heading to an exclusive cocktail event last Friday night.
"It's our first time here and I'm in complete awe of Hong Kong," said Laura Mulleavy. "There's something so futuristic about the city. You'd be forgiven for thinking that 'Blade Runner' was shot here. And the women are so open to fashion."
