AN IPO AHEAD: RetailMeNot Inc. has filed for a proposed initial public offering. The registration statement was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The statement did not include the number of shares to be offered nor the price range for the proposed offering. The prospectus is not yet available, although the statement said if the IPO proceeds as planned, the stock will trade over the counter under the ticker symbol “SALE.”
RetailMeNot has under its umbrella Web sites in several countries that each provide digital coupons available for consumers to use. In the U.S., coupons recently available on the site include those for Kate Spade, Target, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Sports Authority and Lands’ End. The listings contain information on how to activate the coupon plus expiration date. Some offers are for $5.00 off shipping, while others could be a certain percentage off a single item or an extra percentage off a category, such as a summer clearance sale.
