QUICK MARCH: When designer Lou Dalton presents her fall collection at the London Collections: Men shows today, one element of the line will be hitting the retail floor in record time. Dalton has collaborated with the British shoemaker Grenson to create a lace-up boot in textured leather, which will be available to buy at Dover Street Market in London and New York straight after the show. Dalton has created boots with Grenson for her past two seasons’ collections, but for fall has made the design “a little harder and more robust,” she said.
The boot plays into the concept of Dalton’s fall collection, which takes its cues from “a young farmhand working the land [and] what this kid would need to wear to withstand the elements,” Dalton said. A black version of the boot will be sold immediately after the show at the two Dover Street Market locations and will retail for 650 pounds, or around $1,070, while an oxblood version will also be available at wholesale at Dalton’s Paris showroom from Jan. 14 to 23.
