PUNKY TOWN: Moda Operandi, the main underwriter of the Costume Institute’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibition, is doing its part to bring the punk look back. On May 2, the site will begin offering a limited-edition capsule collection of Punk-inspired apparel, accessories and objets d’art, including special pieces from 12 designers and brands exclusively created for the site. These include T-shirts hand-studded with spikes from Eddie Borgo; a Givenchy chiffon and leather cape, and two corseted Vivienne Westwood tartan dresses. Rodarte, House of Waris, Moschino, Prabal Gurung, Thom Browne, Preen, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana and Ek Thongprasert also made special pieces for the occasion.
Moda Operandi cofounder Lauren Santo Domingo said the capsule will “offer women the opportunity to capture the spirit of punk with pieces that balance high fashion and rebellion.”
