PUNK PREVIEW: On Monday morning, the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art offered a first glimpse at the upcoming “Punk: Chaos to Couture” spring exhibition. Against the backdrop of 14 looks by the likes of Chanel, Versace, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, curator Andrew Bolton said the show will be both a sequel and a prequel to the Met’s “AngloMania: Tradition and Transgression in British Fashion” show.

“Rather than look at punk as an attitude, it will look at punk as an aesthetic,” Bolton said, adding that the show will offer recreations of both CBGB in New York and World’s End in London. Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, who will be a cochair at the benefit gala, is still working out his outfit for the big night, but he assured it will be more black tie and less mohawk and safety pins. “For sure, I am not going to wear a kilt,” Tisci said.
