PRESSMAN POKES: Former Barneys New York chief Gene Pressman took a tongue-in-cheek poke at Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo Tuesday at a Woolmark Co. event co-hosted with WWD, asking if Bergdorf’s was still carrying the Lisa Perry collection. Pressman was clearly aware that Barneys had reached an agreement the day before in which Perry Capital, run by Lisa Perry’s hedge fund husband Richard, had become the majority owner of Barneys.
“I think Lisa Perry has enough stores uptown now to carry her collection,” Fargo, senior vice president, fashion office and store presentation at Bergdorf’s, replied good-naturedly. Lisa Perry has a flagship on Madison Avenue and a store in Sag Harbor, N.Y., and is carried at Barneys. Bergdorf’s carried the line up to a couple of years ago.
