Prada Sets Paris Events During Couture

Italian brand plans boutique opening and art initiative.

MILAN — Prada is gearing up to hit Paris Couture Week, which runs from Jan. 23 to 26.

The Italian fashion firm plans to fete the opening of its revamped store on Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, and will also present a new art initiative called 24 Hours Museum.

The latter project will involve Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli along with AMO, the think thank of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture. Details are forthcoming.

Separately, Prada said it has renewed its partnership with South Korean consumer electronics giant LG to develop its third mobile phone.

The ultra-thin model, which will feature a wide, high-resolution display, will be available for pre-order at select Prada boutiques before Christmas for around 650 euros, or $868 at current exchange rates. Deliveries are set for early 2012.

“The partnership between Prada and LG has always been characterized by an innovative approach, with no compromises in terms of style, design and new technologies,” stated Prada chief executive officer Patrizio Bertelli.
