PRADA PITCHES IN: Prada has earmarked 200,000 euros, or $273,162 at current exchange, to support the restoration of the fortress in the Tuscan city of Arezzo to recover the antique church of San Donato in Cremona. Patrizio Bertelli, chief executive officer of the Italian luxury firm, hails from Arezzo. “It’s a concrete support and an important project [.. that ] strengthens the ties between Arezzo and the brand leader in the fashion world,” said the city’s mayor Giuseppe Fanfani in an article on Florentine daily La Nazione, thanking Prada and Bertelli for the “significant” attention paid to the history and the potential of the city.

The estimated total cost of the works is 427,000 euros, or $583,201.

Earlier this month, Prada said it was financing the restoration of Giorgio Vasari’s “Last Supper,” which was seriously damaged during the devastating Florence flood of 1966.
