POWERED UP: As his wife Cynthia Rowley knows all too well, the show always goes on, so Bill Powers had no qualms about staging Lucien Smith’s opening Friday night at his Half Gallery without any lights. But Powers lucked out — ConEd restored the electricity in the gallery’s Forsythe Street neighborhood an hour or two before Prabal Gurung, Ryan McGinley, Adam Lindemann and his wife were expected to walk in the door. “It’s a miracle we just got power an hour before the opening,” Powers said via e-mail. Under the post-Sandy circumstances, Smith, a Los Angeles-born artist and sculptor, has an appropriate name — “Good Vibrations.” “We sold out the show in a blackout, which is a first…for us at least,” Powers said.
