A photography show of 150 works from contemporary, 19th- and 20th-century female (and a few scattered male) photographers opened Thursday at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. Titled "Female Trouble: The Camera as Mirror and Stage of Female Presentation," the show features photographers whose work shed light on or questioned the image of women in their time. Photographers include Diane Arbus, Monica Bonvicini, Sophie Calle, Julia Margaret Cameron, Comtesse de Castiglione, Nan Goldin, Hannah Höch, Robert Mapplethorpe, Tracey Moffat, ringl + pit, Pipilotti Rist, Cindy Sherman, Katharina Sieverding, among others. The show runs to Oct. 26.
