PICK A PALETTE: Barneys New York is the first store selling the Pantone Universe Colorwear men’s wear collection. The European-made classic styles in vibrant colors will make their debut today in the retailer’s Miami store just in time for Art Basel 2013.

Sportswear is a first for Pantone, which has splashed its many hues on watches, teapots and coffee mugs, among other things. The spring line features T-shirts, tank tops, pants, shorts and sweaters, as well as hoodies, jackets, accessories and swimwear. To try to catch shoppers’ attention, in-store displays will include a rainbow wall to highlight Pantone’s many colors.

Barneys has the exclusive until February when PUC will be offered to select retailers. Female color fanatics will have to make do with the men’s offerings for now — there currently aren’t any plans to launch a women’s line.
