CAMPING OUT: “What movie is that,” said Peter Facinelli with a straight face when asked if he was eagerly awaiting the release of the final installment of the "Twilight" saga.
Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in "Breaking Dawn: Part 2," was in Times Square Thursday as part of a promotional appearance for Sears’ new Outdoor Life men’s label. “It’s bittersweet,” he said of the end of the Twilight films. “But I enjoyed the ride and it’s time to move on to other things.” He said among the things he’ll miss the most are the Twihard fans. “The fan base is such a community,” he said. “They’re like family.”
Next up for the actor is "Gallows Hill," a new supernatural thriller that he just finished filming. “It’s a horror film and I’ve never done a horror film before,” he said. “I wouldn’t classify Twilight as a horror film.” He said he’s also hard at work on season five of Nurse Jackie.
Facinelli, who was dressed in looks from the new Outdoor Life line, joked that his home town of Queens, N.Y., was at least “more outdoorsy than Manhattan. But my dad had a house upstate in Ellenville with 20 acres and we used to go there.” He said he likes to spend time outdoors with his three daughters, camping, RVing and just “being out in nature. In the city, there’s all this hustle and bustle, but being out in nature makes you slow down and just be with your family. And that’s what life’s all about.”
