PAYING OUT AT WAL-MART: Mike Duke, president and chief executive officer of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., pulled in total compensation of $18.1 million last year, a decline of 3.1 percent from the prior year, according to a regulatory filing. Most of Duke’s take came from stock awards valued at $13.1 million, although he might not see all of that given vesting schedules and stock price fluctuations. The ceo also received a salary of $1.3 million, nonequity incentive pay of $2.9 million and other compensation, including personal use of company aircraft valued at $99,861. Altogether, Wal-Mart gave Duke and five other top executives total compensation of $58.9 million last year.
