PATEL SPLITS FROM MODA OPERANDI: Roopal Patel has exited her position as fashion director at Moda Operandi, WWD has learned. The former Neiman Marcus senior women’s accessories editor and Bergdorf Goodman alumna joined Moda Operandi in November to some fanfare, but she departed quietly earlier this summer. Patel, a regular on the New York social circuit and a favorite subject of style blogs, said she’s taken much of the summer off and vacationed in Saint-Tropez and Corsica as she considers her next career move. Moda Operandi, which launched in 2011 and allows customers to preorder designer collections straight off the runway, completed a third round of financing in June, raising $36 million from a group of investors, including RRE Ventures, LVHM Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, IMG and Condé Nast.
