ANOTHER WORLD VIEW: Move over PETA, way over. Guests exiting Sunday’s Tracy Reese show at the Bryant Park tents were hit with protesters with a whole new bone to pick: skinny models.
“Two, four, six, eight, big girls you’ll appreciate,” the buxom ladies chanted; “There’s nothing negative about being a plus,” read their hot-pink tanks.
The organization behind it all: Miss NYC Plus, an annual beauty pageant for the big girls.
“We’re not bashing designers and skinny models,” said the group’s director Chanel Clark, “but we want to see change. We just want fashion week to recognize plus size.”
Well, there was no missing the group that day, including 2008 pageant winner Nic Moore wearing her winning sash. Those interested in next year’s prize can apply on their Web site missnycplus.com for a $20 fee — modeling workshops, included. Sizes 12 to 22 only, please.
