ONCE IS ENOUGH: Could Roberto Cavalli end up doing a television show? The designer pondered the question at an American Express event Thursday night held at his Madison Avenue boutique.

“If you offered me a good program where I could laugh and make people laugh and enjoy it with me, I would do it tomorrow,” he said.

Cavalli opined on fashion women and his roots as a designer to a group of about 50 American Express cardholders. The event was part of the American Express by Invitation Only series for platinum card members. In Style’s Hal Rubenstein grilled the Italian designer on getting his first big break, the influence of celebrity and reflected on some of his favorite designs for Halle Berry, Sharon Stone, Kate Hudson, Beyoncé and the Spice Girls, for whom he conceptualized costumes for their reunion tour last winter.

The candid Cavalli admitted it would be his “only time designing their tour outfits.” If the Spice Girls come to me again and say, ‘Roberto make the dresses for our next tour,’ I would say “Never!”
