ALL FOR PAT: Pat Field’s new collection, whose name is a mouthful — Patricia Field Destination Style New York — had its own fashion show Saturday night at the Edison Ballroom. The party — attended by hundreds of people including drag queen performers and “Project Runway” alumni — was a love fest of the “Ugly Betty” cast with Vanessa Williams, Becki Newton, Judith Light and Ana Ortiz hugging and gushing over each other in a way that their rivalrous alter egos on the TV show never would.
“Pat’s our guru right now,” Ortiz said of Field, who is back designing the fashion-focused show. “The third season has been so huge and she’s helping expand it. She really rides that whole line between madness and genius."
Patricia Field Destination Style New York, inspired by “Sex and the City” and “The Devil Wears Prada,” will make its debut on HSN on Sept. 23. A presale for the line also started on HSN.com Sunday. Designed for quick sell-offs, 135,000 pieces have been made. Besides HSN, the line will be sold at Marks & Spencer in the U.K. and at Myer in Australia.
