PAPERBALL UNFOLDS: A mix of young designers, artists and social types hit the Paperball benefit for New York’s Museum of Art and Design on Wednesday evening, including Rogan Gregory, Chris Benz, Robert Geller, Terence Koh, Fabiola Beracasa, Lorenzo Martone and Peter Davis. Henry Holland was visiting from London, hosting the Six Scents Series launch event the night before. “I just did a collaboration with Levi’s that will be in stores in February,” he added, noting the Henry Holland x Levi’s line will include men’s and women’s jeans, jackets, dresses and tops.

Bryan Batt of “Mad Men,” one of the party’s hosts, spent part of the evening smoking outside the museum — true to character — draped in a spiffy three-piece Ermenegildo Zegna suit. When not filming, Batt runs a home furnishings shop in New Orleans, called Hazelnut, with his partner of 20 years.

Another host, Rose McGowan, was in town from Iowa, where she’s filming a movie, “Dylan’s Wake,” with Nick Stahl and Amy Smart. “I play a crackhead,” she explained. “It’s really hard core and heartbreaking. And the ugliest clothes ever. So to come here and wear vintage Bill Blass is a nice change.”

RALPH’S BIG NIGHT: Where does Ralph Lauren go when he wants to celebrate a milestone birthday? One of the hottest spots in town, it appears. The designer was spotted at New York’s new QT — formerly known as The Boom Boom Room — at The Standard hotel Wednesday night marking his 70th birthday, which was that day, with family and friends.

NIGHT OWLS:
The lineup of presenters at Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars gala on Thursday will feature a larger group of music industry types, though of course there will be the usual mix of fashion players, as well. The night’s big award — the Superstar honor going to Oscar de la Renta — will be presented by Vogue’s Grace Coddington. Mary J Blige and James Franco will hand a Star award to Gucci’s Frida Giannini, Iman will present Michael Kors with his, Dita Von Teese will hand the award to Stephen Jones and W magazine’s Dennis Freedman will give it to Victoire de Castellane. In beauty, Gwen Stefani will be on hand to present an award to Coty Prestige’s Catherine Walsh, and André Leon Talley will present the night’s sustainability award to Paula Wallace of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Michael Stipe, meanwhile, will present Diesel’s Renzo Rosso with the corporate leadership award, while Jon Bon Jovi will do the honors for Kenneth Cole, who is receiving the humanitarian award. Fern Mallis, meanwhile, will present Clodagh with the architecture trophy, and Andy Cohen and Frances Berwick will accept the Lord & Taylor Fashion Oracle Award on behalf of the Bravo network.

FGI’s Night of Stars, themed “The Storytellers,” will take place at Cipriani 55 Wall Street.

RUNNING IN STYLE: Forty runners at the ING New York Marathon on Nov. 1 will get a particular fashion touch courtesy of DKNY. The brand created a special T-shirt for the marathon for the 40 runners of the Team Free Arts team, which is hoping to raise $100,000 for Free Arts NYC, the New York organization that looks to bring arts and mentoring programs to children in need across the city. To mark the partnership, DKNY is throwing a party at its SoHo store on Thursday. In the New York City area, DKNY will offer a limited number of the $25 T-shirts for sale, with all proceeds going to Free Arts NYC.
