OSCAR’S CORRESPONDENCE: Oscar de la Renta is getting into the paper business — stationery to be exact. Partnering with Paperless Post, the company debuts 50 bridal stationery designs today inspired by the Chantilly, Alençon and guipure laces used in the designer’s gowns as well as elements of his home in Punta Cana. The stationery is available in paper form, from engraved and letter-pressed 100 percent cotton paper to digitally printed card stock, as well as web, mobile web and iPhone app versions. Online stationery prices start at 25 cents per card, digital printing starts at $1 per card, and fine printing at $1.58 per card. Following bridal, the line will expand to include children’s invitations, general entertaining and personal stationery. “Paperless Post is a game-changer for the tradition of correspondence,” said Erika Bearman, Oscar de la Renta’s senior vice president of global communications. “Starting our collaboration with bridal designs is an opportunity for us to connect with a bride as she plans the different aspects of her wedding. It’s a moment to capture her attention, as well as the reach of her entire social network, on and offline.” Founded in 2009, Paperless Post has since raised $12.3 million in funding and sent over 75 million user-generated cards.
