Prabal Gurung Interviews Rachel Zoe at Lincoln Center

The designer told the crowd of American Express cardholders, “I’m channeling Oprah today.”

ON WITH THE ZOE: Prabal Gurung and Rachel Zoe closed out New York Fashion Week Thursday night with a Q&A for American Express cardholders at Lincoln Center. Gurung told the crowd, “I’m channeling Oprah today.”

Noting the designer was sounding rather raspy, Zoe asked, “Did you hear him? He has fashion week voice. After being complimented by Zoe for writing the nicest e-mails, he said, “Well, I’ll have to thank my assistant for that — I am kidding. I don’t have an assistant.”

All kidding aside, they chatted about Zoe’s juggling her roles as designer, stylist, mother and reality star. (Bravo is gearing up for season five of “The Rachel Zoe Project.”) As for keeping her job titles all in check, Zoe said, “Some days I look at Rodger [Berman] my husband and say, ‘I can’t. I just can’t.’ And he says, ‘You have to. Your name is on it.’”

Before the lights went down for a Rachel Zoe runway show, Gurung pulled a Winfrey, asking Zoe where she sees herself being five years from now. “I hope Sky-Sky will have a sibling. I do always say I never really mapped this out....As long as I have a little bit of beach and a lot of family time, I’m going to be good,” she said.
