ON THE SCENT: Perfumers could be the next industry to get the reality show treatment. Production company RelativityReal, the television arm of Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media, has been searching for “the Indiana Jones” of the fragrance world to star in a potential reality show for Animal Planet. The cable network is aiming to unearth a compelling personality involved in sourcing exotic ingredients from scenic locales. Relativity approached Erwin Creed, the dashing, race car-driving scion of the 252-year old Creed brand, but the French company, which prefers to tout its connections to clients both royal and Presidential, declined. Mandy Aftel, a Berkeley, Calif.-based artisanal perfumer was also approached. This is the second possible reality show Creed has demurred, after declining a proposal several years ago from Banyan Productions, creator of “Trading Spaces.”
