THEYSKENS THEORY: Olivier Theyskens touched down in Los Angeles on Thursday for a Q&A with Ken Downing at Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills followed by dinner at Eveleigh. Afterwards, he said, “With couture you feel obligated to design something modern each season but with Theyskens Theory I don’t question anything. I’m thinking of what I’d like to wear.” Downing said, “He has the ability to build the cool right into the clothes. You don’t have to adjust a thing.” The designer also managed to visit Huntington Gardens in Pasadena. “I love all the cactus plants. It’s something you don’t see in Europe. I have several in my house that I keep on the terrace, but they need to come inside during the winter.” After L.A., he heads to Paris to oversee the opening of a Rue St. Honore store then to Belgium to visit family.
