NUMBER 13 NOT SO LUCKY FOR TAYLOR SWIFT: Orange County, Calif.-based apparel company Lucky 13 on Tuesday filed a trademark infringement suit against Grammy winner Taylor Swift, alleging that she appropriated the phrase on her own apparel. Lucky 13 owner Robert Kloetzly founded the brand in 1991 under parent company Blue Sphere Inc. and the use of the phrase in connection with its T-shirts, jackets, footwear and accessories has been trademarked. Swift’s Web site also sells T-shirts with the phrase “Lucky 13.” The singer, who did not respond to requests for comment at press time, frequently uses the number (in her Twitter handle and in the name of her management company, among others), because her birthday is Dec. 13 and the number has marked other milestones in her career.
