Nordstrom Taps Opening Ceremony's Olivia Kim

New director of creative projects was most recently vice president of creative at Opening Ceremony.

NEW HIRE: Nordstrom has turned to Opening Ceremony for its newest executive.

The Seattle-based retailer tapped Olivia Kim as director of creative projects. Kim, who starts on Monday, was most recently vice president of creative at Opening Ceremony, where she reported to cofounder and creative director Humberto Leon. Her creative talents did not go unnoticed during her time there. Last August, Kim and Jen Brill designed a three-style capsule collection for Cole Haan to mark its fall Chelsea pump.

At Nordstrom, Kim is expected to bring her creativity and leverage her merchandising skills and contacts. She will be based in Seattle, and report to Pete Nordstrom, president of merchandising, who cited “the experience and talent she brings to help us move our brand forward” as reasons for the hire.
