NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: Not one to take “no” for an answer, Houston philanthropist Becca Cason Thrash has lined up a plethora of wonders for her June 18 fund-raising gala in Paris to benefit American and International Friends of the Louvre.
These include a concert by Diana Ross under the I.M. Pei pyramid, and a live auction whose lots include a work by Anselm Kiefer, donated by art dealer Thaddaeus Ropac, and an array of sumptuous vacations, such as a five-night Nile cruise for eight guests on Christian Louboutin’s private boat, or a weekend at the Forbes mansion in Normandy, France.
Thrash has requested “extremely formal attire” as the dress code for “La Grande Nuit,” opting for Jean Paul Gaultier couture herself. (There are two other parties as a warm-up for out-of-town guests.)
One of the French capital’s most glamorous summer events, the third edition of Liaisons au Louvre attracts an array of American bigwigs and a sprinkling of European glitterati, with Charlotte Casiraghi expected among the guests.
