TOKYO CALLING: Nicholas Kirkwood has opened his first retail space in Japan, a pop-up at the Tokyo department store Isetan. Designed by Mehrnoosh Khadivi of Craftwork Studio, the venue features Kirkwood’s signature chevron pattern and carries a selection of the women’s 2014 high summer and pre-fall collections. Prices range from 39,000 yen, or $385, for espadrilles to 130,000 yen, or $1,283, for lace heel boots. The shop, which opened last week, will remain open until May 27.
Tokyo is the third pop-up for the label, with previous ones including Printemps and Bal Harbour Shops. Another is set to open in the Middle East.
On Tuesday, the designer also revealed that he will be showing his men’s spring/summer 2015 collection for the second time at London Collections: Men on June 15. His company said that the decision to show men’s in London again marks the continued expansion of the brand following the launch of stores in London, New York and Las Vegas.
