NEXT GENERATION: Michael van der Ham, J.W. Anderson and Simone Rocha are among the London-based designers who have won sponsorship from the British Fashion Council’s NewGen program for the spring 2013 season.
The initiative, which is supported by Topshop, awards the designers with support to show their collections in runway shows, presentations and static exhibitions during London Fashion Week, which for spring 2013 will run from Sept. 14 through 18.
Van der Ham, Anderson and Rocha are all existing recipients who have again won sponsorship to stage runway shows for the coming season, while Christopher Raeburn, J. JS Lee, Lucas Nascimento, Marques’ Almeida, hat designer Nasir Mazhar and knitwear label Sister by Sibling have been awarded presentation sponsorship.
Meanwhile, the labels Palmer//Harding, Huishan Zhang, Lim Cooper and footwear designer Sophia Webster have all won sponsorship to exhibit their designs.
