NEW RECRUIT: Moda Operandi has named Nadine Iskenderian to the newly created role of chief merchandising officer, reporting to company cofounder and chief executive officer Aslaug Magnusdottir. Iskenderian, who started Wednesday, was most recently vice president of merchandising at Gilt Groupe. In her new role, she oversees all merchandising activities, brand assortments and cultivation of brand partnerships at Moda Operandi. She will help launch the Web site’s move into in-season selling, which is planned for November. The company’s current model is centered on seasonal pre-orders.
The company has also tapped Indre Rockefeller as director of designer ready-to-wear, reporting to Iskenderian. Rockefeller was most recently fashion director of luxury online retailer ModeWalk.
