Alexis Bittar Names First President

Taryn A. Laeben joins the firm after 12 years at Kate Spade, where she most recently served as senior vice president of North America.

NEW PRESIDENT: Alexis Bittar has named Taryn A. Laeben the company’s first president, effective Sept. 15. Laeben joins the firm after 12 years at Kate Spade, where she most recently served as senior vice president of North America. During her tenure at Kate Spade, Laeben oversaw all the brand’s full-price and outlet stores across the U.S., Canada and the U.K. as well as its e-commerce division and North American wholesale business.

The appointment is the latest in a string of moves toward growth for the brand. In July, Bittar appointed Anne Fahey-Storment, formerly of Jason Wu, as vice president of global communications and marketing. Outside of his own business, Bittar recently linked with Sephora on a collection of makeup accessories, due out in stores this October.
