NEW & NOTEWORTHY: This year’s “Empowering Imagination” student contest by Kering and Parsons The New School for Design was won by Harim Jung for women’s ready-to-wear, and Yunxiang Zhou for men’s rtw. South Korean Jung took cues from school uniforms in her native Seoul, while Zhou, who is originally Chinese but grew up in Israel, looked at worker’s garments and tools as inspiration for her lineup of sustainable-conscious clothes. Both will start internships at a brand of their choice at Kering, and participate in a mentoring session with Style.com. Barneys New York’s flagship will also display their work from May 28 to June 10.
