JUST IN TIME: Neil Barrett put in an appearance at his Tokyo flagship on Friday night to make a special delivery. The designer created a one-of-a-kind timepiece for Maurice Lacroix as part of a charity initiative for Wallpaper magazine. Barrett flew to Tokyo to host a party at his Aoyama flagship and present the watch to the winning bidder, Maroya Kaneko. The undisclosed proceeds of the online auction are going to Oxfam. The watch features a stainless steel case completely covered in black leather and a calfskin strap. Barrett said the project whet his appetite to do more with watches in the future. “We’re going to do more,” he said. “I always like a collaboration.”

Meanwhile, Barrett said he just secured a new bank loan and he no longer needs an investor to expand his business. The Milan-based designer said last year he was mulling the sale of a minority stake in his house. “I didn’t expect it but we just went to the bank and they just said yes,” he quipped.
