Mr Porter Fetes Men's Collaboration With Ami

The 13-piece exclusive capsule line is part of a series of special ranges for the e-tailer, which is launching from mid-May through June.

LES AMIS: Mr Porter celebrated its men’s collaboration with French label Ami, designed by Alexandre Mattiussi, at a dinner at New York’s Lovely Day on Tuesday. The 13-piece exclusive capsule line is part of a series of special ranges the e-tailer is launching from mid-May through June in order to jazz up the interstitial period between the end of full-price spring selling and the introduction of fall merchandise. The lineup includes designs by Alexander Wang—which was toasted with a dinner last month in London—Raf Simons, Beams Plus and a dual partnership between shoemakers Foot the Coacher and Grenson. On hand for the Ami fete were Joseph Altuzurra, Scott Schuman, illustrator Richard Haines and Italian actor Alessio Boni. Altuzarra and Mattiussi are friends from their respective Givenchy days, when the former was an intern and the latter was designing men’s wear for the luxury brand. In December, Mattiusi opened his first Ami store in the Marais district of Paris and he’s now looking for a second location in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
