LOOK TWICE: Taking a break from the Academy Awards festivities on Saturday night were Mila Kunis, Liz Goldwyn, Vidal Sassoon and Trina Turk, who turned out for a dinner and private exhibition of “The Total Look” at MOCA at The Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. The exhibit — celebrating the work of late designer Rudi Gernreich, late photographer William Claxton, and their muse, Peggy Moffitt — features a selection from the model’s personal collection of Gernreich’s designs, photographs taken by her late husband Claxton and video clips of her early modeling shoots. “It was fun to be a muse for two,” said Moffitt. “Those hundreds of years ago, they’re some of my very best memories.” The exhibit was curated by Cameron Silver, Decades founder and longtime friend to Moffitt and Claxton. “It’s a three-way combination that is amazing,” said MOCA Director Jeffrey Deitch. “The relationship [between Gernreich, Moffitt and Claxton] was one that defined the vision of the Sixties, and helped define Los Angeles in that great period.” Moffitt attended the event in a black Gernreich maxi dress and her signature bowl cut. “I admire how she introduced modern dance gesture into modeling. She really reinvented how to be a model,” said Deitch. “The Total Look” will run until May 20.
