GUEST OF HONOR: Angela Missoni opened Tokyo fashion week on Monday with two shows recapping her spring men’s and women’s collections on a stage featuring orange lattice work. Missoni, who is spending only a few days in the capital, lamented that she could not stay longer to see more of Japan because she is preparing to fly to New York soon to collect her Star award from Fashion Group International. “If it weren’t for that, I would be happy to stay,” she said, stressing the importance of the Japanese market to the brand. “We are one of the first fashion houses to come to Japan from Italy 35 years ago.”
