HARD TWERK IF YOU CAN GET IT: The most provocative pop phenom of the moment will descend on Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars next week at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. Miley Cyrus (and her now-famous tongue) will present Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy with the night’s biggest honor, the Superstar Award. The “We Can’t Stop” star struck up a friendship with the duo, having recently appeared in Jacobs’ “Protect the Skin You’re In” T-shirt campaign.
She’s not the only big name at the “Galaxy”-themed event. Kate Upton will present a “Star” trophy to Carine Roitfeld; Alexa Chung will do the honors for Christopher Kane, and Hamish Bowles will be on hand for Alexander Wang. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will give Coach Inc.’s Lew Frankfort his Corporate Leadership Award, while Diane von Furstenberg will present Nadja Swarovski with the night’s Brand Visionary honor.
Other presenters include Margaret Russell for Jamie Drake, Michael Chiarello for Leslie Blodgett, Steve Birkbeck for Givaudan’s Gilles Andrier, and Chris Collins for Evie Evangelou and Franca Sozzani for Fashion 4 Development.
As for Jacobs and Duffy, their table will certainly be the one to watch that evening. In addition to Cyrus, they are also bringing Aretha Franklin.
