WEDDING NOT: Did they or didn’t they? On Tuesday, the blogosphere went into overdrive with reports that Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone said “I do” over the holidays in St. Barth’s. The two had been photographed on the beach, taking in the sun and sea, honeymoon-style. Then, Larry Gagosian hosted a party in honor of Jacobs and Martone with plenty of speeches and a tiered wedding cake with toppers that looked like the happy couple.
Not so fast. According to a spokeswoman for the designer, this was not a wedding, and the two are still happily engaged.
Those who still feel the urge to honor their non-nuptials, though, can do so via jcpenney.com, where a prankster set up a wedding registry for the pair, with a Dec. 25 wedding date given. Among the items on the fake registry are two massage chairs, four portable massage tables, 10 Oreck Tower Air Purifiers and one Linden Street Telescope. Not surprisingly, all items on the registry are still available.
