LONDON — Manolo Blahnik is to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award at the annual British Fashion Awards ceremony in London on Nov. 27.
The award recognizes one designer who throughout his or her career has made an impact on the global fashion industry. The prize was launched last year, and the winner was Sir Paul Smith.
As reported, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Stella McCartney, and Christopher Kane are among the labels that have been nominated for this year’s awards.
The 11 awards categories range from Emerging Talent to Red Carpet, to Designer of the Year, to the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.
Blahnik, who is celebrating 40 years in fashion, won the British Fashion Council’s Accessory Designer of the Year Award in 1990, and again in 1999.
