MALE TYPES: Artist and designer Greg Lauren debuted an installation at Colette in Paris this week, comprising 14 life-size paper sculptures that explore male archetypes through fashion. Titled “Alteration at Colette,” the show includes a three-piece suit covered in pocket squares, called “The Peacock,” and a classic peak lapel suit fashioned entirely from vintage Superman comic books, dubbed “The Man of Steel.” There’s also “The Marine,” “The Boxer,” and “White DB Dinner Jacket.” Lauren — who is the son of Jerry Lauren and a nephew of Ralph Lauren as well as the husband of actress Elizabeth Berkley — hand-sews each sculpture using Japanese paper. The exhibit, which is an evolution of a similar show staged in New York in 2009, is on view at Colette through Jan. 28.
