MAKEUP GALORE: After a successful partnership with CoverGirl on the Polyvore Live fashion show during New York Fashion Week, Polyvore is expanding further into the beauty segment. Users can now search beyond the realm of fashion on the online community with the launch of a search function specifically for beauty products. “Beauty and fashion have always been intertwined at Polyvore,” said Jess Lee, Polyvore’s chief executive officer and co-founder. “The community often adds lipsticks and fragrances to their outfits…[they] gave us the idea to make it easier to shop and search for beauty products. We just followed their lead.” The addition of makeup products to Polyvore’s database will enable users to create more complete, head-to-toe “sets” from the site’s library of products and images, which are made by dragging and dropping different items into personal style collages and mood boards.
