MAKE MINE A MACDONALD: London-based designer Julien Macdonald plans to launch a new business next year, called Julien Macdonald Bespoke, a made-to-measure service supported by an in-house atelier. “I’m really excited about setting up the atelier,” he said. “I’ve always tried to source U.K. fabrics and use U.K. manufacturers for my [ready-to-wear] collections, so having a dedicated in-house atelier to produce made-in-Britain pieces for my clients is a dream come true. Working closely with a client to create a special outfit is so much fun, and I love the idea of being able to do more of that.”
The atelier will be located at Macdonald’s headquarters, a townhouse at 28 Savile Row.
