PEGAH ANVARIAN’S NEW SPIN AT THREE DOTS: Los Angeles-based designer Pegah Anvarian will spin Three Dots into new territory this fall as the knit label’s new creative director. Anvarian steps into the shoes vacated by Yuchin Mao, the former Helmut Lang designer who oversaw Three Dots’ creative direction from 2005 to 2008. After ceasing production of her namesake label last spring, Anvarian conjured new items such as high-waisted skirts, capes and jackets to lure contemporary and young designer shoppers to Three Dots. A specialist in draping, she also plans to incorporate novel fabrics including double-knit jersey and stretchy tweed. Given the straitened times, however, Garden Grove, Calif.-based Three Dots assured that Anvarian’s designs will retail for under $225. “I just see the potential of it being bigger than it is now,” Anvarian said.
