LYST.COM’S NEW SHOPPING APP: Lyst.com has launched a shopping application that allows users to combine the functionality of its online website with the convenience of mobile. Lyst is a personalized fashion marketplace whereby consumers can create a customized shopping “feed” of products from their favorite designers and stores. Launched in time for New York Fashion Week, the iPhone app will allow users to view looks from the Fall/Winter 2013 collections 24 hours after they show. Also available will be looks from the London, Milan and Paris shows. Users who select looks to be added to their own “lyst” will be notified of when the item becomes available for purchase anywhere in the world. Chris Morton, chief executive officer of Lyst, said “With Lyst’s mobile traffic almost tripling since the beginning of 2012, the launch of the iPhone app will allow our growing number of mobile cusotmers to shop from their phones more seamlessly than ever.” Lyst said it has 1.5 million unique visitors every month, which drive, in their estimate, “tens of millions of dollars” in sales to its retail and designer partners around the world. Mobile grew to 25 percent at the end of 2012, compared with 8 percent of Lysts’s overall site traffic at the beginning of 2012.
