LV LOVE: Legend has it that if a couple attaches a padlock to a bridge and throws the key into the water below, their love will be sealed forever. (Such evidence is all over Europe, including the Pont des Arts footbridge over the Seine in Paris.)
For spring, Louis Vuitton Joaillerie looked to the romantic gesture, combining it with the house’s iconic padlock motif. The new 15-piece fine jewelry collection, called Lockit, features necklaces, rings and bracelets in 18-karat white, rose and yellow gold, some with pavé diamonds. Also inspired by the padlocks on Louis Vuitton’s fall 2011 runway, a chunky choker style comes with a fully functional lock and key.
