LUNCH WITH LIZ’S JEWELS: Christie’s and Dom Pérignon hosted a platoon of jewelry lovers at a Champagne luncheon on Thursday for a private preview of the upcoming blockbuster auction of Elizabeth Taylor’s jewels, fashions and artwork. Olivia Chantecaille, Gillian Miniter, Jamie Tisch, Lydia Fenet, Nathalie Kaplan and other well-tressed types marveled at treasures like Taylor’s La Peregrina pearl necklace, which dates back to 1520 and passed through the hands of multiple Spanish kings and a few Bonapartes, before Richard Burton acquired it for La Liz in 1969. It’s estimated to bring in $2 million to $3 million at the Christie’s auction, which will take place Dec. 13 to 16, following an exhibition open to the public from Dec. 3 to 12. In total, 270 pieces of Taylor’s bewitching baubles are up for sale.
