Colleagues Luncheon Honors L.A. Philanthropist Wallis Annenberg

Although cohost Oscar de la Renta couldn't make it, Eliza Reed Bolen and Boaz Mazur went in the designer's place.

LUNCH LINE: The 25th Annual Colleagues Luncheon, once again cohosted by Oscar de la Renta, honored Los Angeles philanthropist Wallis Annenberg with its Champion of Children Award, which in past years has gone to Sherry Lansing, Nancy Reagan (twice) and de la Renta himself. Although the designer couldn’t make it, Eliza Reed Bolen and Boaz Mazur went in his place, and Mazur will remain in Southern California for two weeks of trunk shows at Melrose Place, South Coast Plaza, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. Annenberg, who leads the foundation bearing her family’s name, has a big year ahead: The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, in the historic Beverly Hills Post Office, is set to open Oct. 17. “When you are fortunate enough to be able to give back, it becomes about how to make a difference,” she said. Among the members in attendance at the Van Cleef & Arpels-sponsored event were Betsy Bloomingdale, Nancy and Barbara Davis, Gelila Puck, Sherry Lansing, Lois Aldrin, Katherine Ross, Lianne Weintraub, Suzanne and Jenni Kayne and Kathy Hilton, who said, “I don’t normally like luncheons, but this is a really good event.”
