There was no shortage of eye candy at Christie’s on Tuesday when the auction house teamed up with 3.1 Phillip Lim to host a luncheon in honor of Lim’s spring collection as well as the paintings by Picasso that inspired it—several of which Christie’s will put up for sale next month. The paintings, which came from the private collections of author Michael Chrichton and Mrs. Sidney F. Brody (widow of the Los Angeles real estate developer), as well as five “collage dresses” from Lim’s spring collection were on display for revelers in the dining room of Christie’s midtown headquarters. Though Lim himself was absent, 3.1 Phillip Lim CEO Wen Zhou was able to take part in the festivities. (And it’s a good thing she did: Zhou and other guests were treated to a goodie bag containing a two-night stay at the Deer Valley retreat of event sponsor Montage Hotels.)
