In Louis Vuitton's front row Thursday, Marc Jacobs' boyfriend Lorenzo Martone, clad in a black and day-glo pink Stephen Sprouse/Louis Vuitton T-shirt, said he’s working on a video for American Eagle’s Martin + Osa brand that may be used for a viral campaign. On the hunt for new faces for several projects, including Baby Phat’s campaign, the Brazilian advertising executive said Freida Pinto is his ideal woman. “She’s so beautiful, is totally approachable and has great skin; she’d be perfect for a beauty campaign,” he enthused.

British It-girl, TV presenter Alexa Chung, stood out in quirky, white-framed shades. Chung, whose campaign for retailer New Look breaks later this month, described her experience of deejaying at Wednesday evening’s Fendi party as “sheer fear. My computer crashed so I didn’t have any of the CDs loaded that I needed. I just had a load of Sixties, Shangri-Las stuff and they wanted Rihanna. I didn’t have the tools of the trade,” she laughed.

Weather girl turned actress Louise Bourgoin said she’s been dressing up for her latest role in the thriller “Blanc Comme Neige” (White as Snow) alongside venerable actor Francois Cluzet. “I play the wife of a very rich man, who wears lots of showy outfits,” Bourgoin said, adding Zuhair Murad evening dresses figure in the wardrobe. Actress Gong Li will hit the big screen in “Shanghai” in September. Keeping the rumor mill active, Gareth Pugh also popped up on the front row. “Shh,” he whispered, reiterating that there’s no truth in the ongoing speculation that he could design for Dior Homme. A few seats away sat Emanuel Ungaro designer Esteban Cortazar.

Meanwhile, Vuitton chief Yves Carcelle said the brand’s giant flagship on the Champs-Elysees would remain open seven days a week, despite a recent annulment of special permission by the Council of State court. “It’ll be open on Sunday,” Carcelle said, citing another authorization that isn’t affected by the decision. And look out for Vuitton to abandon its slot at the end of Paris Fashion Week and move up a few days next season. “Definitely earlier,” Jacobs said backstage.
