CRUISE CONTROL: Even for brands that are 160 years old, there’s always a first time. That’ll be the case come May 17, when Louis Vuitton stages its first runway show for cruise in Monte-Carlo. It’ll also be the first time Vuitton’s new artistic director of women’s collections, Nicolas Ghesquière, does a show for the interim fashion season.

The timing coincides with the Cannes Film Festival, scheduled for May 14 to 25, and it is understood the show is at the invitation of Monaco’s royal family, with Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco expected to be among attendees.
