GRAY MATTER: French clothing brand Comptoir des Cotonniers, which opened its first U.S. store in New York last October, has begun scouting for Manhattan locations for two more stores it plans to open. Marianne Romestain, the brand’s general director, said the company is considering retail space on Bleecker Street and in the Meatpacking District, as well as on Columbus Avenue. Meanwhile, this week Comptoir des Cotonniers unveiled an Eighties rock chick-themed fall-winter collection at a fashion show in Paris, featuring a limited edition version of Dr. Martens’ iconic boots in mousey gray.
